This is the most satisfactory product we've bought, I think. Yes, it's that good. No bells or whistles, just a simple pan with ridges! But it is perfect for its' purpose. No leak, no melt. Cover bacon with paper towel and cook 1 minute/per slice (in our 1000 watt microwave). Holds 4 slices bacon easily, might hold 5. Great for 2 people. No splattering on microwave sides or back, thank to the paper towel. I would not put it in the oven, simply because I had a casserole dish of same material by Nordic ware and it began to melt in the oven at 350. What a mess! Unless they've changed it, I wouldn't risk it. No dishwasher either! We simply drain the grease and put the rack in hot soapy water to soak. Then rinse and dry by hand. No big deal.If all of my cooking pots, pans and sheets worked this well!Necesitaba un producto fuerte y duradero para utilizar en el horno microhondas y que fuera del tamaño adecuado ya que el espacio es pequeño. El anterior se derritió al pegarlo accidentalmente cerca de la hornilla de la estufa. It's nice for 2 people. No mess, just follow instructions. It's small and doesn't take up much room.Excellent on cooking bacon. However, some what hard to clean as it is not recommended to be put in dish washer. This works just like one I have had for years. I only had to get this one because I wanted one for the cabin as well. These work well and last decades! This is the product for you. Easy to use, easy to clean. Beats paper towels on a microwaveable plate.Same as using a microwave plate. The graves just make it harder to clean.About 20 years ago, I bought one of these (the manufacturer was then Anchor Hocking) in a local (Sheffield) shop. It was easily the best bacon rack I'd ever encountered and so when it didn't survive being trodden on, I went to buy another...only to find that it has to be ordered from the US. Amazon made the order easier, but the postage added £4 to the price. What's so good about this rack? Well, it lasted 20 years of regular use, equally happy in oven or microwave.Instructions do not recommend dishwasher but mine must have been through my dishwasher over a thousand times with just some discolouration. It went a bronze colour as opposed to its original cream. Streaky bacon comes out beautifully crisp but I find it pretty good for almost everything that cooks in oven or microwave.Get one. And will someone import some so that they can be obtained without a postage surcharge.I had to buy my last one in the States. So glad to find I could buy this in uk. I use it to cook bacon in microwave/oven setting, just perfect for this combination of cooking and all the fat drains away between the grooves. So pleased with it that I gave one to my daughterIt's tricky to find a "flat load" bacon rack that has the capacity that you want, because bacon isn't exactly uniform size nor particularly easy to measure. It's gooey and messes up the tape measure ;-) We don't buy bacon from the grocery store, but from a local online-only high end butcher. I wanted 6, this does only 4 comfortably of the type of bacon we buy.So I just bought another one so I can stack 'em.Otherwise they're great - cleans right up in a dish washer, surprisingly solid. Tho, that might not be quite as true of those of you who like carbonizing their bacon. Crunchy bacon, eww.I couldn't find a rectangular bacon rack locally so looked on Amazon.ca. This wasn't the cheapest but shipping was free and there was no tax. That should have alerted me that it was coming from the U.S. I only realized when shipping was slated to take about two weeks. I then worried that tax would be added by customs but that didn't happen and it came sooner than expected.I really like the shape of this rack. I have round ones but bacon fits better on a rectangle. I usually cover with a paper towel and my microwave has an auto-cook option that includes bacon. You simply program for the number of slices up to 6. The bacon cooks evenly but isn't crisp which some of my family members prefer. To crisp I usually give it another 30 secs to a minute. I like the grooves that keep the bacon out of the grease and you can save some of the bacon fat if you are making a recipe that calls for it. The rack itself cleans up easily in the dishwasher and also by hand if you let it soak a while before cleaning it.I have had one of these for 20 years and it finally cracked in one corner. I use it mainly for cooking stuffed mushrooms and baked potatoes. The description for the new one states it's dishwasher safe however the product packaging states otherwise. I received my new one and now it has cracked after the 2nd use. Not impressed.
