Took to azores to use to transport bikes on a rental car - I sent over in luggage and it was perfectIt is small and with some fiddling was able to attatch it to the car and move bikesI was a bit concerned it might scratch (I’ll bring some picture pads next time) but it did notIt held the bikes securely and took up little space and folded easilyI did need to use a pen to push in the little buttons to get it to close easilyWorth the money for an inexpensive way to move bikes - I was happy I could easily remove it from the car when I did not need it and keep it in the trunk due to it being smallI’m not technical but I was able to figure it out pretty quicklyI don’t think unwound ever keep it in a backpack as it has some weight but you could if you wanted to get picked up along the wayWorked fantastic for a 2005 Ford Escape. I like this one because if you set it up right you can still open the back door when the bike is off the rack. It's actually pretty sturdy too, just make sure you use extra bungy cords to hold your front wheel, and pedals. The only downside is that the strap buckles are plastic, and can break on you with too much jarring force like a really short nasty speed bump at the wrong speed. I was still able to tie mine when the buckle broke, and it's gone an entire summer. Money well spent. I wonder if they have replacement buckles.I love the compactness of this bike carrier. It seems sturdy, but the webbing does not seem strong and may stretch. My other carrier has much stronger webbing, but it is very bulky and takes up a lot of room in my car and this one does not.My kids love riding at a park in another town and their bikes are too big to fit in my car. I got this because it’s easy to take on and off due to the frequency (or lack there of) that I need this. PROS: portable, pretty easy to get it on the car after you’ve done it once, price CONS: Not sure I would drive a long distance or highway with this. I don’t know how sturdy it really isInstalled on 2019 Subaru Outback. After mounting I added a piece of rubber between the upper pads and the rear glass as they shifted about a little bit. I also added a back up strap that wrapped around the rack and up to the hard point mounts on the roof rails Just for piece of mind. Over all it did the job for two full size mountain bikes and for the price well worth it.I was happy with it, but after five years the straps wore out even though I did not use it very often.I have not found a commercially available product to carry sculling oars on a sports car. I thought I could modify this bike carrier. It was easy. The end caps near the bicycle plastic top bar receivers are held in with the 3 mm 0.5 thread cap screws used to rotate the plastic receivers. Once I figured that out, the rest was simple. No metal cutting or drilling was necessary. There is substantial structural overkill for my intended load. Always trail the paddle ends.We bought this for our car to not have to add a permanent bike rack. This one attaches easily and quickly onto our hatchback. It holds 2 adult size bikes. We have cruisers, so it'll definitely hold regular mountain bikes as well. Happy with this itemMuy fácil de usar. Y de muy buena calidad ?? Adjunto imagen de los modelos de autos compatibles. ??Sorry about the long review but I took some time picking a rack out for us and I read plenty of reviews and I really wanted to add some of my thoughts.I bought the Allen bike rack for our 2 childrens bikes to go on our Peugeot 2008. Although it wasn’t listed as fitting our car for what it cost it was worth a punt.It arrived the next day as it was prime delivery. It comes in a small but weighty box. The rack is super simple to get ready. I would say assembly as it’s fully assembled in the box and just has to be erected if you like.It has 5 nylon straps with metal hooks on the ends which 2 hook over the top of the boot, 2 to the sides and 1 under the bottom of the boot lid. The whole operation took about 10 mins maximum. So the bikes we were using were 2 fairly small child’s bikes and they posed some trouble. This was because 1 was just too small, we got it on to a certain extent but not as I would of preferred. The second slightly bigger bike was a jiggle (again because of its size) but it went on. Apart from that and not wanting to strap the rack tighter to the boot in case of damage the rack served it’s purpose. We had a 15min drive to a promenade for a little ride and besides a nerve racking first drive, the drive back was less nail biting as I tightened the rack to the boot a little. After getting back the bikes come off super easy and the rack comes with a small bag to keep it in after unlatching and folding up.So all in all the rack flat out works, it isn’t exactly the sturdiest on the market but it is certainly one of the cheapest, the build quality is more than enough for what we need, 2 small child’s bikes.Personally I wouldn’t start hanging heavy or large expensive bikes off it for the obvious reasons and I wouldn’t want to drive for a couple of hundred miles with it in the boot. It is fairly forgiving in the fit on cars and I imagine it will fit most hatchbacks etc.Anyways hopefully this lengthy review is of some help to anyone who is in the market for a cheap bike rack.Early days but seems to be a well made, well thought out design. Fits to the car quickly, easily and securely. Holds bike securely and easily adapts to different frames. Don't forget straps to secure wheels & cranks from turning. Folds down very small for storage.Edit after 4 weeks. Still a decent item but manufacturer doesn't answer queries. Also holds bikes very close to car so be careful. Reducing to 4 stars for no answer.Take your time with this clever carrier...I've had a few cumbersome carriers over the years that needed storage facilities because they were big, robust units that couldn't be compacted....This unit is soo compact, folding into itself very neatly ...Take your time unfolding it..... it works but can cause frustration if your expectations are that you just put it on your car & go!!!!Practice, Practice with it, it works and folds up soo compact that you can leave it in your Trunk/Boot.....Patience & Understanding required ?I'm a woman on my own and i was surprised how compact and easy to fit is , gr8 for the task I handthank u X
